In 2008 the tourism film festival 'Tourfilm Riga' took place for the first time. The festival was integrated in the international tourism fair 'Balttour-2008'. 55 films from 16 countries were presented. In 2009 'Tourfilm Riga' will be again organized by the Riga City Council and Riga Tourism Coordination and Infortmation Center but separately from the fair. The purpose of the festival is to present cities, regions and countries. In general, the film festival gives an insight into the world-wide audiovisual tourism promotion offers. The best films will be awarded with prizes.
