From August 29th to September 4th, the city of Veliko Gradište hosted the International Festival of Tourism & Environmental Film - Silafest, the Serbian stage of the CIFFT Circuit, the most prestigious award initiative for the Travel Video Marketing Industry. In its 13th edition, the festival received approximately 200 entries from more than 20 countries, evidencing its high competitive level and international potential.
Silafest stands out for having Tourism and Environment as its essential guidelines, becoming a stage where the best promotional films, documentaries and TV Reports are recognized and awarded. A vibrant Award Ceremony, held at the Veliko Gradište Park on September 3rd, revealed 27 winners from 13 countries in the categories Tourism Destinations City, Region and Country, Tourism Products, Tourism Services, Independent Travel Videos, Documentary Films and Short Documentary Films.
The Australian production “Seek Different”, produced by Zoom Film TV for the Tourism Northern Territory, was acclaimed by the jury as the best film of the competition, receiving the Grand Prix. The film is “a celebration of difference”, leaving the audience with the clear message that the Northern Territory is the perfect destination for those who want to see, do and feel something totally different.
The award obtained at Silafest is the third Grand Prix of “Seek different” in the CIFFT Circuit 2021. The film also won the Grand Prix at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa 2021 and the Diamond Award at The Golden City Gate (ITB Berlin) 2021.
In the National Competition, the jury awarded the production “Seven Kings – ESA”, produced by Aleksandar Švorcan, with the “Gold Pincum National Competition”. The promotional film “Belgrade walk through history & culture”, produced by the Creative Light Production for the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, achieved the “Silver Pincum National Competition”.
Silafest also assigned other special awards, such as the “Best Advertisement”, won by the “Greek Summer is a State of Mind” (Greece); the “Best Promotional Film”, won by “Vilnius: amazing wherever you think it is” (Lithuania); and the “Best Video Campaign”, won by “South Australia: hear it, touch it, see it to believe it” (Australia). In the Documentary Session, the “Great Way” (Spain) was awarded as the “Best Documentary Film”, while “World Of Viruses” (Germany) ensured the “Best Short Documentary Film” award.
In addition to the film competition, Silafest brought to its national and international guests activities such as press conferences, film screenings and diversified cultural experiences, including a fishing competition and visits to the Monastery Nimnik and the Golubac Fortress.
The festival counts with the support of the National Tourism Organization of Serbia, the Tourist Organization of Veliko Gradište, and the College of Tourism in Belgrade. Since 2010, Silafest is an official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), being part of the CIFFT Circuit, a unique competition across tourism film festivals from 4 continents, which will define the World’s Best Tourism Films of the year.

Created in 1989, the CIFFT - International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals, brings together the World’s Best Tourism Film Festivals from four continents at the most prestigious awards and recognition initiative in Travel Video Marketing Industry - the CIFFT Circuit.
In partnership with the endorsers UNWTO (World Tourism Organization), ETC (European Travel Commission), CTO (Caribbean Tourism Organization), and CATA (Centro America Tourism Association), CIFFT works to encourage tourism destinations to achieve excellence in promoting their products, services, and locations using video.
