Terres Travel Festival 2024: Tourism, Creativity, and Sustainability in the Spotlight

Tortosa – September 20th, 2024 - The Terres Travel Festival - Films & Creativity returned to the lively city of Tortosa from September 13th to 21st, celebrating the best in tourism audiovisual communication through prestigious awards and a rich program of activities.

During the Award Ceremony, tourism films and documentaries from 18 countries were awarded. The Grand Prix of the Terres Travel Festival 2024 was awarded to “To be Albertan”, produced by C&B Advertising for Travel Alberta (Canada). The production, which showcases Alberta's spirit of freedom, also won a Gold Award in the Tourism Destination Region category. This marks the second consecutive Grand Prix win for “To be Albertan” in the CIFFT Circuit, following its top honor at Silkfest, in Serbia.

Promotion And Development Agency, received the second most important award of the night, the TERRES DE L’EBRE - Best Film Promoting Sustainability, underscoring the festival’s commitment to recognizing sustainable messages and practices.

Special awards were assigned to “Extraordinary Voyages Galapagos” (Andorra) as the Best Production Showcasing the Core Values of a Unesco Biosphere Reserve, “Més Amunt. La Gran Familia” as the Best Catalan Production, “Origin” (Spain) as the Best Gastronomy Production / Catalunya Regió de la Gastronomia 2025 and “Green Spain: Asturias” as the Best Ibero-American Tourism Film by TSTT.

The international jury also defined the Gold and Silver Awards across various categories, including Tourism Destination Cities, Regions, Countries, Tourism Products, Tourism Services, and Independent Filmmakers. This year’s edition featured submissions from more than 40 countries.

Besides the prestigious awards, the Terres Travel Festival’s program included diverse activities focused on Tourism, Creativity, and Sustainability. On September 19th, the Tortosa Museum hosted a new edition of the Terres Sustainable Tourism Day, a professional event where experiences and audiovisual projects related to natural destinations were shared.

Since 2019, the Terres Travel Festival has been an official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT). It is part of the CIFFT Circuit, a global competition for tourism videos, alongside other international tourism and corporate film festivals. The festival’s winners can already see their awards reflected on the CIFFT Rankings, which will define the World’s Best Tourism Films of the year.
