The film shows an old man from the Alpbachtal valley. He is walking through the forest to finally reach the top of a mountain right before sunrise. On top of the mountain he starts to “juchiz” (austrian whoop of joy) to tell the valley that spring has arrived. In the next scenes you can see a cheesemaker, a farmer and an innkeeper. All of them hear the juchizer and start to juchiz as well. In the last scene you can see a german family that hears the juchizers in their flat.
