Synopsis
The video is short, interesting, dynamic, and focused on a discovery of architectural masterpieces of the master architect Jože Plečnik. In designing Ljubljana, Plečnik used modern approaches while modelling the city on ancient Athens, redesigning it with consideration to the city’s water and land axes. The multitude of his creations in the city referred to as “Plečnik’s Ljubljana”, is considered to be one of the 20th century’s most important total works of art. Join the exploration!

Goals of the film
The video Plečnik’s Ljubljana was created in anticipation of 150th anniversary of Plečnik’s birth. The video aims to raise awareness of Plečnik’s heritage and its importance to Ljubljana, enhance the share of domestic and foreign visitors that travel to Ljubljana for its cultural offer, ensure the promotion of high-quality tourist experiences, and promote the development of innovative cultural tourist experiences that are suited to the needs and expectations of modern tourists.
Target Group
The video Plečnik’s Ljubljana is the first in a series about Plečnik’s works and various projects of Ljubljana Tourism to spread awareness of the invaluable architectural legacy of the great master. The video is intended for wide national, as well as wide international audiences, especially cultural tourists and visitors that come to Ljubljana for a City Brake.
